CLASS INFO
Each of the thirteen chapters of the course text Mathematical Methods for Business and Economics is organized in the following manner.
Reading Sections and Examples to explain the major concepts.
Solved Problems to illustrate the use of these concepts.
Supplementary Problems for the student to solve (aka Homework).
Although the author attempts to fully explain each example and problem, there may be times when you find gaps in the steps or presentation. Please contact me by email to let me know when this is the case. I will post more complete solutions here.
Study Plan
You should complete about one chapter every 7 to 10 days in order to have sufficient time to complete the course. (For an eight week session, this would be two chapters.)
Approximately one week before completing the study of a designated block of chapters, ask your proctor to request the Exam for that block. Turn in your homework to your proctor and take the exam. These will be sent to the Division of Continuing Eduation Facilitation Center, forwarded to me for grading, posted in the K-State Online Gradebook, returned to the Center, and mailed to your proctor. You may keep your returned homework; you may view (but not keep) your exam.
Grading
Each section has a 40 point HW assignment and a 40 point exam. The 100 point Final Exam is comprehensive, and the questions are evenly distributed over the course material.
