KSU-PDS Partnership Project

The KSU-PDS Partnership Project is a collaborative effort involving two colleges at Kansas State University (the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, three community colleges (Dodge City, Garden City, and Seward County), six public school districts (Geary County, Manhattan-Ogden, Dodge City, Garden City, Ulysses, and Kansas City, Kansas) and a variety of business and community partners. This partnership will be responsible for strengthening the content knowledge and teaching skills of teacher education graduates. The goal is to increase significantly the ability of teacher education graduates to help all K-12 students meet state and national standards.

The KSU-PDS Partnership Project has received funding for the Equity and Access: Enhancing Teacher Quality through Multi-institutional Partnerships project from the Teacher Quality Enhancement program of the U.S. Department of Education. This 5 year project is to design, institutionalize, and disseminate a multi-institutional collaborative teacher preparation model developed to address the continuum of teacher education from recruitment, through undergraduate preparation, early career mentoring and continued professional growth.

The 2005 KSU-PDS Summer Institute will run from 8:30am-12:00noon, Monday-Thursday, June 6-16 at the Susan B. Anthony Middle School, located at 2501 Browning Ave., Manhattan, KS, 66502.
