tenure-track Assistant Professor

Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to commence August 8, 2010, with salary commensurate with qualifications. A Ph.D. in mathematics is required and preference will be given to candidates with some postdoctoral experience. The department seeks candidates whose research interests are in analysis and/or applied mathematics. The successful candidate should have strong research credentials as well as strong accomplishment or promise in teaching, should demonstrate a strong commitment to mentoring students, and should value working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. Applicants must submit the following: a letter of application, curriculum vita, outline of teaching philosophy, a statement of research objectives, and four letters of reference, at least one of which addresses the applicant's teaching ability and potential.
