All New GTAs: Required Training Program

Fall 2009 Mathematics Department GTA Training Program: (All required orientations and English testing are accommodated).

NOTE: Schedule updated on July 8, 2009


Check In: ALL New GTAs beginning Fall 2009 must arrive and check in with the department no later than 8:00 A.M. on Friday, August 14th. The Department GTA Training is mandatory for supported graduate students. Should you come to town before that date, you should check in with the Mathematics Department upon arrival *before* visiting any other departments or attending any orientations.

International Graduate Students: check in with the International Student Center upon arrival

All New Graduate Students

Basic Exam: ALL new graduate students are required to take the entrance Basic Exam. The Exam will be given on Monday, August 17th from 6pm to 9pm.
Review: http://www.math.ksu.edu/main/graduate/basic_exam_syllabus.htm Enrollment: Enrollment will be scheduled on Tuesday, August 18th at 3pm after receiving the results of the Basic Exam and being advised.

Graduate School All New Student Orientation: All new Graduate Students are required to attend the Graduate School Orientation on Wednesday, August 19th beginning at 8:00 AM.

EID: Signup online for your KSU Electronic ID. International students who do not have a Social Security Number, or U.S. Citizens who requested an assigned student number should use the student number printed on the upper right side of your admissions letter. Otherwise, use your SSN.

All New International Graduate Students

EPT/SPEAK: If you are required to take the EPT and/or SPEAK, you will be scheduled for these exams by the Math Department. Please try to arrive a few days early to allow time to rest before taking the exam(s).
Register: After checking in with the department, please go to the English Language Program (ELP) office upon arrival to confirm your registration and pick up study materials.

TB Test: Most International GTAs will be required to take a TB test upon arrival. Please go to the International Student Center (ISC) webpage for additional information.

International Student Orientation All new international Graduate Students are required to attend the ISC student orientation on August 17th at 9am.
