Statement of Academic Objectives.
Three letters of recommendation. There is no required form for these letters
Two original sets of all transcripts [certified list of coursework] from all universities and colleges attended. If not a U.S. university, be sure these include your name, name of school attended, title of courses, dates (semester/year) taken, marks received and an official seal and/or signature of authorized faculty from that school.
- This document will verify that financial support is available while attending Kansas State University. Depending on the source of support, $29,850 per year is required for tuition, books, subsistence, and other necessary costs. Please print this form, secure the necessary signatures, and return it with the confirmation receipt and application fee. (Students without Department support must document $29,850 per year for themselves, and an additional $4,000 for each dependent (spouse, child).)
An Application fee in the amount of 55 US Dollars is required by the Graduate School: Please make payment out to: `KSU Graduate School'. To pay the application fee electronically, you must fill out your application on-line. If you want to be advised by the Department prior to the payment of this fee, please send items 1 through 6 above and we will be happy to do an informal review.
GRE is not required but you may provide your score if you wish. Mathematics reporting code for GRE is 0703. Kansas State University ETS reporting code is: 6334.
This may be filled out online and submitted electronically, but the signature page must be printed, signed and mailed in.
Section 1: All international applicants must read and sign section 1 of the Affidavit acknowledging that they have read and understand section 1.
Sections 2 and 3: If you have personal funds available for your support, or if you plan to bring a dependant [support for dependents is not covered by departmental support], you will also need to complete section 2 and/or section 3, as appropriate.
English Exams required:
For admission, applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency. Copies of official scores for one of the following exams is required:
TOEFL [Scores are valid for 2 years]: Test of English as a Foreign Language. Required minimum score: computer: 250; written: 600; TOEFL IBt: 100);
IELTS: International English Language Testing System-academic exam. Required minimum score: 7.0.
Note: In some cases, if the applicant is exceptionally well-qualified, provisional admission may be allowed for applicant with a TOEFL score of 213-249 (written: 550-599) or IELTS score of 6.1-6.9. In this case, the applicant would be required to take our University's EPT (English Proficiency Test) upon arrival.-
Some departmental support is available in the form of teaching assistantships. In order to be eligible for this support, a copy of your TSE [Test of Spoken English] score of 50, or the Speaking section of the TOEFL IBt [internet based exam] score of 26.

Application Deadlines:
Application deadlines for international students residing outside of the USA, and also to be considered for support, are as follows:
- February 1st for the following fall semester
- September 1st for the following spring semester
