*Special Lecture:

Kenji Fukaya (Kyoto University): "Lagrangian Floer homology and Mirror symmetry".

Abstract: In this talk, I would like to explain M. Kontsevitch's homological Mirror symmetry conjecture, some of the results toward the proof of it, and also some generalization or amplification of the conjecture. I would also like to explain its relation to several related versions of homomlogical mirror symmetry such as classical Mirror symmetry conjecture (counting the number of holomorphic disc by the theory of period of its mirror), Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture (realization of the mirror symmetry conjecture as a kind of dual torus fibration). Homological Mirror symmetry conjecture is based on the theory of Floer homology of Lagrangian submanifolds. So explanation of basic part of the story of Lagrangian Floer homology is also included.

Friday December 12, 2:30 PM Room: Cardwell 103

*This lecture is co-sponsored by the K-State Center for Integration of Undergraduate and Graduate Research (I-Center).
