Directions & Travel:

Driving: Manhattan is located 120 miles West of of Kansas City; if you fly into Kansas City the interstate I-70 will take you to Manhattan. The I-70 is kept in excellent conditions, 24/7, all seasons. Maps and driving instructions can be found at Google Maps.
Manhattan zip code is 66502, Kansas City International (MCI) zip code is 64153.

Flying: Most online travel agencies (e.g. Expedia) sell full-journey tickets flying into Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK) which is 10 min drive from KSU campus. Please book your ticket well in advance to guarantee availability and a good price. Connecting flights into Manhattan Regional Airport are operated by USAir Express, Air Midwest and Great Lakes. For ticket information and schedules click here. Please be aware that seats on connecting flights run out quickly. You may also book round-trip tickets to Manhattan with third party agencies such as Expedia. If you require assistance with flight bookings (e.g. travel cost allowance information, ground shuttle, airport car rentals, etc.) please write an e-mail to rcastano@math.ksu.edu.
  • Option 1: Fly into Kansas City International (MCI) and take a connecting flight into Manhattan Regional Airport.

  • Option 2: Fly into Denver and take a connecting flight into Manhattan Regional.

  • Option 3: You can fly into Kansas City International. From there you can either rent a car (2 hours easy drive); or take the ground transportation shuttle (KCI Roadrunner you should make a reservation ahead). Taking the ground transportation shuttle is less comfortable and more time consuming. Renting a car is better.

Please be advised that, due to NSF rules, all supported participants are required to fly with U.S. carriers only. Participants travelling from abroad are encouraged to look at the NSF Foreign Travel Rules.
