News Details

March 2008 : I-Center Scholars for 2007-8
The I-Center Undergraduate Scholars for 2007-2008 are William Carlson, senior in Mathematics, Michael Reppert, senior in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and Nicole Wayant, senior in Geography and Mathematics.

William Carlson's research project is Weak Solutions to a Certain Elliptic Partial Differential Equation, and his research mentor is Professor Ivan Blank from the Department of Mathematics at K-State.

Michael Reppert's research mentor is Professor Virginia Naibo from the Department of Mathematics at K-State, and his topic is Calculation of the Spectral Properties of Pigment-Protein Systems.

Nicole Wayant is engaged in the research project Spatial-temporal Analysis of Satellite and Climatic Data for Predicting Malaria Frequency in Paraguay. This interdisciplinary research project is a collaboration between Professor Douglas Goodin from the Department of Geography at K-State, Nicole Wayant, and Professor Diego Maldonado from the Department of Mathematics at K-State.
