| Nicole Wayant is engaged in the research project: Spatial-temporal Analysis of Malaria in Paraguay: Correlating Malaria and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index . This interdisciplinary research project is a collaboration between Professor Douglas Goodin from the Department of Geography at K-State, Nicole Wayant, Mathematics and Geography major, and Professor Diego Maldonado from the Department of Mathematics at K-State. Nicole has recently presented some of the obtained results at the Association of American Geographers (AAG) Regional Conference that took place at the University of North Dakota on September 12-13, 2008. An abstract of the talk can be found on page 34 of the Conference Program. During that conference, Nicole was awarded the second prize in the category of undergraduate original research paper for her presentation. Nicole has been designated an I-Center Undergraduate Scholar at K-State for Spring 2007 and Fall 2008. |
