| A team of K-State students finished first in the Kansas Collegiate
Mathematics Competition which was held during the Kansas Section meeting
of the MAA at the University of Kansas.
K-State's winning team consisted of Matthew Burkemper, a senior in mathematics from Derby, Jeffrey Amos, a junior in mathematics and computer science from Olathe, and Michael Higgins, a senior in mathematics and statistics from Manhattan. Individually, Matthew Burkemper finished first and Jeffrey Amos finished second overall in the Competition. Teams from Baker University, Benedictine College, Cowley County Community College, Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, Pittsburgh State University, Southwestern College, the University of Kansas, and Washburn University participated in the Competition. |
