April 2006 : K-State Students successfully participate in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling
A team of Kansas State University students successfully competed in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling.

A total of 748 teams competed including one team from K-State. Each team of three students had to choose one of two different mathematical modeling problems and then work together at their institution to solve the problem. One problem was about water irrigation, and the other was about wheel chair access at airports.

The K-State team consisting of Asma Al-Rawi, Eli Parke, and Kevin McBeth solved a problem involving wheel chair access at airports and was designated a Successful Participant.
