MATH 499B   K-State Putnam Seminar - Spring 2001

If you enjoy solving challenging problems, then here is the course for you! Students in the Putnam Seminar will learn problem solving techniques in algebra, calculus, geometry, and number theory and will use them to tackle problems from the Putnam Mathematical Competition. Drs. Zongzhu Lin, Tom Muenzenberger, Christopher Pinner, and Huanan Yang will be the instructors.

Interested students may enroll in the one credit course MATH 499 Putnam Seminar, section B, reference number 15160. The Putnam Seminar is scheduled to meet on Fridays from 8:30-9:20 a.m. in Cardwell 122, beginning the first week of the spring semester. The Problem Group, an extension of Math Club, will meet periodically to work on problems assigned in the Putnam Seminar. MATH 499 is repeatable for credit and applies toward the bachelor's degree in mathematics.
