MATH 501 Mathematical Foundations of Actuarial Science - Spring 2008
This course provides an introduction to calculus-based applications and models with an emphasis on applications to insurance. Actuaries are expected to complete a sequence of Professional Examinations covering subjects necessary to their work. This course will prepare students to take the first of these professional examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries Exams and the Casualty Actuarial Society. The prerequisites are MATH 222 Analytic Calculus and Geometry III and STAT 510 Introduction to Probability and Statistics I or concurrent enrollment in STAT 510.
