Math 199 K-State Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar - Fall
The Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar will introduce our students to ideas and opportunities in the mathematical sciences and to applications of mathematics. The lectures feature presentations by alumni of our Department, our faculty, and business and government representatives. In addition to the alumni presentations, one of our Math Professors will describe How to Be the Best Math Student You Can Be; our Director of the I-Center will talk about Undergraduate Research; and an Assistant Director of Career and Employment Services will talk about The Career Fair, Internships, and Co-op Work Experiences. Students will be shown how to access the Undergraduate Lecture Schedule as well as the Kansas State University, Department of Mathematics, and Undergraduate Program homepages. The class will also cover student activities such as Math Club, Open House, and Pi Mu Epsilon, the Mathematics Honorary.Students enrolled in MATH 199 are required to attend the Undergraduate Lectures in Mathematics. See Dr. Muenzenberger if you have another commitment during a lecture. MATH 199 is scheduled to meet every Monday (except Labor Day and the Fall break) during the fall semester from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. in 131 Cardwell Hall. Students are invited to meet the lecturer and have refreshments in the Department of Mathematics Commons Room, 121 Cardwell Hall right after each lecture. All math majors are welcome to attend, and email notices will be sent the week before each lecture.
