Dr. Wattenberg is a professor of mathematics at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. He spent most of his professional career at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with sabbaticals or leaves at the Universities of Wisconsin, Illinois, Warwick (in England) and the Universite de Paris, and is the author of Calculus in a Real and Complex World. He is currently on leave at the National Science Foundation, working with colleagues from Duke and Cal Poly on The Connected Curriculum Project using the World Wide Web, Computer Algebra Systems, the Texas Instruments CBL and other tools to create a very active learning environment for students.
