Brainstorming and Barnstorming --
Mathematics takes flight
Learn Mathematics. Learn to fly. Get paid for it.
Now accepting applications for the Summer 2008 Program
The mathematics department at Kansas State University
ran an exciting NSF sponsored REU site over the summers of
2005, 2006 and 2007. We are still awaiting word on our funding levels
for our upcoming Summer 2008 program. Our funding level will determine the size
of this summer's program. The 2008 program will be held Monday June 9 through Friday
August 1.
| There will be many interesting
academic and non-academic activities associated with this program. Each student will pursue a research problem for the bulk of the program.
The other academic activities are: |
 |
- A problem solving component
- An applied math component on
the mathematics of flight
- A pure math component
The highlight of the non-academic activities will be flight training.
A more detailed description of the
program may be found in the links to the left.
For full consideration for the 2008 program, application materials should
arrive by April 7, 2008. To start the application process go to

This site will be updated in the near future, so please check this
