Topics:

Math 731 is a continuation of Math 730 and will (roughly) cover chapters 4, 5 and 6 of Herstein's book:
Vector Spaces, Modules, Field Theory and Linear Transformations.

Grading:

1) Weekly Homework Assignments worth 16 points each. Probably 12 assignments altogether, worth a total of 192 points. Assignments will be due on Friday in class: Jan. 21, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, Feb. 11, Feb. 18, Mar. 4, Mar. 11, Mar. 18, Apr. 1, Apr. 8, Apr. 22, Apr. 29

2) Two Midterms worth 60 points each, February 25 and April 15 (tentative dates.)

3) Final Exam worth 120 points. Friday, May 13, 4-6 p.m.
